So, here we are. Me staring at a blank screen and the bones of what is to be my blog.
I've decided to start a website to catalogue my writing. I write professionally but in a very specific field that encourages a formulaic approach to writing; it certainly doesn't reward creativity. I entered the 2019 Smut Marathon on a whim and really enjoyed that experience. Some of the feedback I received through the comments section on the site or through some of the blog posts written by other authors was actually very encouraging and I thank them for their time and consideration in providing feedback on the entrants - something I did not do at all in 2019 but which I have committed to for the 2020 competition.
So I created the blog a number of months ago and am yet to actually get around the posting. What better time than the end of a decade? (let's not get into when the decade starts or ends here). I've decided to start by posting all of my entries to the 2019 Smut Marathon and then I'll occasionally get my own thoughts down as well. Depending on how I feel and how usable the Blogger app is, I might post images, poems (mine), think-pieces or deranged rants.
I've made a few big life changes recently and I want to start spending time on useful projects, my writing being one. Given I write so much 'at work' I do reserve the right to be a little lazy with my grammar every now and then - I'm rather fond of ellipses for that reason.
Have a good NYE celebration, either on the couch or at a wild party, and I hope you enjoy what I create here. Whatever the hell that is....
